So it’s been a while since I don’twrite anything… as i had mentioned before my posts depend on my time and inspiration… guess in the past few days i have not been in the mood for new posts.. god damn CR goverment arrgg.. aight lets let that go. 🙂
So I have been doing quite a bit of work with OpenSDE, and feel quite happy to see several member of the “Grupo GNU/Linux de El Salvador” joining us at this early stages on the project, I’m doing my best to provide guidance and support specially for those who have a hard time readin english.
As we I write this I am downloading packages for a new build.. I need to test several base repository updates before I commit them… hopefully nothing will break and no one will scream… ah well we will find out tomorrow 🙂
Discussing today with the Linux SV group i realized that there is ALOT of interest in people to see XGL working and in general people is curious about what OpenSDE can do.. so I will fix the desktop target and add XGL support to general some livecds and iso to give away at the Linux Lan Party in El Salvador on Septemeber the 23rd and 24th… wish me luck 🙂
I still have the idea of creating a fork of the Geek Code running on my head.. i would really appreciate to get input, ideas, suggestions from people of the categories we should have on this fork.
anyways.. its been a long day i’m moving to /dev/bed

Why the fork when the T2 people did all the hard work over at http://www.t2-project.org/ – there would have been the space for your contributions as well.

the same can be said of ROCKLinux, in relation to T2. or Xfree86 in relation to Xorg. The forks are not done by externals, are done by part of the original community, which because of one or another reason feel that they can’t continue together.

oops, i forgot the link ,-) http://www.rocklinux.org/ the creators of the great idea (and most of the code) behind T2 and OpenSDE.

This totally misses the point that you misused me to get into Germany, letting me pay 2 rent over in Chile and a full load in Germany for no code at all and claiming later on I would be the asshole and you claim to be leading the whole gral.
Also do not forget that I’m behind most new-age ROCK Linux code, from cross compilation over to the 1.7/2.0 targets when I was leading the series and merging all the dRock code into ROCK (which Clifford himself noted as a nearly complete rewrite of ROCK).
And I thought you are a friend, a friend we even sent a xmas present … – after all it is humanity which is loosing with all the stuff you do to me and the T2 people!
Please stop your lies.

Dear Rene (aka anonymous),
I can really understand, that it is a pitty for you seeing people running away from “your project”.
I guess this hurts even more because those “traitors” have contributed quite a lot to “your” environment!
But they did that because they strongly believe in the way
FreeSoftware is developed, distributed and what kind of
great opportunities this model provides for other people !
So do you think that those “evil m&m fork” persons went away for the fun it? If you think so …
I just have to say: Sorry Dude! You’re wrong!
The persons you labeled as “evil” just wanted to have their *peace*!
It seems to me that you’re mostly interested in the oposite!
That’s the real pity I’m discovering, because there is definitely too much war going on in the world!
Btw, if I’d be your military advisor I’d tell you to refine the strategy you are currently using!
I’d advise you to use the word “evil m&m terrorists” instead of just “evil”, because a lots of humans are “evil” , so you won’t be able to raise emotions so to say you won’t be able to produce the needed level of fear within the environment you think you are controlling!
Another vital part you should consider while preparing a war:
By just declaring a person “evil” you won’t be able to justify wars outside of your territory to ensure “homeland security” and to get new “cannon fodder” for your fight against “evil forking terrorists” for maintaining the “free world” you are carefully designing!
Remember dude!
Fearful people are controlled and manipulated much easier by the *strong* leader of the “free world”!
And even if the *strong* leader is claiming to act in behalf of god, who is speaking through the “leaders” voice, he needs the help and support of the mortals within “his” environment, for doing the daily work to ensure the stability of the environment he is “owning” and that he has invented long time ago when he was a mortal by himself.
Of course that doesn’t mean that the *strong* leader isn’t doing anything!
No! He is doing the *important* things the mortals can’t do because they are just mortals.
Of course he is also responsible for planning and imposing all the *important* changes within the environment alone, even if the changes will be intrusive and producing a lot of harm to most people within “his” environment.
Of course the *strong* leader has to hide some things from “his” mortals, to avoid that they will become more powerful!
He doesn’t like to loose the control over powerful tools!
Just he is allowed to use them because of his “extraordenary supremacy” over the mortals!
But what happens if some mortals start to ask questions about the powerful tools because they would like to use them for improving the life of all mortals of the environment?
This will mostly uncover the real personality of the *strong* leader and his real motivations behind his leadership of the “free world”!
To maintain the “status quo” he immediatly has to react in behalf of this “evil terrorist thread” against his “free world” by increasing the output of his propaganda machinery, to also prepare the ground for possible wars against those “evil forking terrorists”!
In parallel the *strong* leader immediately starts to isolate the “evil enemy” by using sanctions.
They don’t have the right to “misuse” the achievements of the “free world” even if they contributed to it before and are willing to help mortals from the “free world community” by sharing their knowledge and experience!
Of course the *strong* leader doesn’t like to do that, but
who else is able to take the appropriate meassurements to protect the mortals of the “free world” from this “evil terrorist thread”!
He is the poor guy who has to carry the heavy burden all alone!
To ease the decission a mortal may have to take, he starts to simplify things:
“Either you’re with us, or you’re against us!”
No coexistence allowed!
Does all of this sounds familiar to you ?
I appeal to you to stop your preparations for a war!
Neither against Alejandro, me or any other member of the OpenSDE Community!
There is really no need for it even if we don’t like each other anymore !
In the hope that both projects can evolve in *peace* to produce something good for helping the FreeSoftware Movement I wish both Development Communities all the best !

How nice. Esp nice to read about that fork in some blog.
I just wonder how all the other T2/Rock people that are now in your IRC channel could have noticed the existence of openSDE within such a short time – when you didn’t have the guts to write a mail to the T2 ml. I bet you did not even tell Rene. It is not a nice thing to silently /query ppl from #t2 on freenode, tell ’em whatever weird stuff about rxr and try to draw them into your project (and it is not a very clever way, too). This kind of developer communication is not what i would call “open”.
Valentin.

It has not been announced yet because i wanted to make some changes on it before that, which i have not had time to finish.
On the other hand, the people that joined #opensde knew about it mostly because they asked were we where or because they saw the commits at CIA. There is nothing to hide, but the was not much to announce (yet).
Is that a reason for removing us from the mailing list or taking the ‘name’ at freshmeat to block us?

I really do not want to get involved in this, but I must state two things:
1. I entered the OpenSDE project by my own will, not because someone told me something about somebody. My reasons to enter this project are beyound the scope of this comment, although they are not secret.
2. I don’t think that any of theese comments have anything to do with what Miguel Bolaños said in his blog. Come on people this whole discussion has nothing to to with his post so I think that everybody should respect this. This kind of comments are disrespectfull to the owner of the blog and I think that a better mean of expressing these ideeas has to be found, without trashing Miguels blog.
My 2 cents if anybody is interested.

Sad thing, i knew that would happen some months ago,
http://www.t2-project.org/irclogs/t2-2006-05-18
“22:14 actually i worry a bit about t2 lately – i do not want to know why everyone is sick about each other, but please stop it”
Again – please stop it and and reunite, there is no reason to split such a small community, find the reset button and forget all personal problems – yet another fork will lead to nothing!!!
